Legally Blonde the Musical

The Cast

Laura Bell Bundy. (Elle Woods) Laura has had many other starring roles besides Elle Woods. She has also performed as Amber Von Tussle in Hairspray, and many others. Besides being an actress and a singer, she is the creator and co-designer of Shcmancy Purses.

Christian Borle. (Emmett) Christian received a 2007 Tony, Drama Desk and Drama League Award nominations for his work in Legally Blonde. Like Laura, he has also starred in many Broadway shows including Footloose.

Orfeh. (Paulette) Ofreh received 2007 Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations for her work in Legally Blonde.

Richard H. Blake. (Warner Huntington III) Richard has been in may productions including Hairspray where he played the part of Link. He has also appeared in The Wedding Singer, Sound Of Music, and Saturday Night Fever.

Kate Shindle. (Vivienne) Kate has been in many shows including Jekyll and Hyde, The Secret Garden, and many more. She was also crowned Miss America in 1998. You also may have seen her in the movie The Stepford Wives.

Making the Movie into a Musical

As you probably know, Legally Blonde started out as a movie starring Reese Witherspoon, Luke Wilson, Jennifer Coolidge, and many more. It was a huge risk to try to turn it onto a Broadway show. The show cost $12.8 million to put on. The show started in San Francisco and since it was such a huge hit there, It was moved to New York. Hopefully, it will make enough money to come to Chicago. Many people know that a recording of the Broadway musical was broadcasted on MTV hosted by the stars of “The Hills”. The viewing of the musical on television will hopefully encourage millions of people to go and see the show.

The Story

If you know Legally Blonde as well as I do, you probably know the basic outline of the story. In order to make it into a musical, they added songs that fit exactly into the story. Some of these songs include:
