About Me

Hi my name is Katie!!! I am 13 years old. This web page was created for the average horse lover like me! I currently take English lessons and go to ride western, at Summer camp every year. I mostly jump but I love dressage as well.

My Horses

Although I have ridden many different horses and ponies throughout my life ranging from a 12- hand welsh pony to a 16-hand thoroughbred. I don’t own my own horse yet. Currently, I ride a 12.3-hand sixteen year old welsh pony named Tickles. I have been riding for three and a half years. As for Tickles he is quite strong willed although stubborn and levelheaded as most ponies are. Even though he has some pretty annoying habits I love him any way!

Competition

I have a fabulous trainer named Sue! She helped me get to be the rider I am today!!! I go to the occasional show for fun through the barn I ride at (Pony Tales) and have competed in one very big dressage competition. I love to jump Tickles but I haven’t taken him to any jumping shows yet.

No Small Thing, The Horses we Love the Lessons we Learn, The Quoted Horse Lover, Heartland series, and the Thoroughbred series. These books are great for the rainy days that you can’t go to the barn but wish you were there.

H.A.R.P.S

If you want to help out horses in need then you definitely will want to check out H.A.R.P.S.! The hoofed animal rescue and protection society. It is an amazing horse sanctuary where they rescue and care fore abused and neglected horses and other hoofed animals until they can be readopted into loving homes. I think it is in Barrington, IL!
